Our story
The Problem Was Never Growing Them
Sri Lanka grows excellent mushrooms. What it did not have was a way for the person who grew them on Tuesday morning to reach the person who wanted them on Tuesday afternoon. Stock went to a collector at whatever price was offered, sat in transit, and reached a shelf three days later with no indication of how old it was.
We started this marketplace because both sides of that transaction were losing. Growers took whatever they were given. Buyers paid supermarket prices for produce that had already spent most of its life in a van.
Now a grower lists what they cut, a buyer sees when it was cut and who cut it, and the two of them agree a price directly. That is the whole idea.

A badge that anyone can get is worth nothing. Here is what it takes to earn one — and to keep it.

Application
Proof of the grow site, an identity or business record, and photographs of the packing area.

Farm visit
A member of our team walks the grow rooms in person. No video calls, no exceptions.

Cold-chain check
We verify the farm can hold cut stock below 8°C before they can promise same-day.

Annual re-visit
Verification lapses after twelve months. Sustained low ratings trigger an early review.
Sustainability
Grown on What Was Going to Be Burned
Almost every farm on this platform grows on agricultural waste — paddy straw, sawdust, coir pith — that would otherwise be burned at the edge of a field. A kilo of oyster mushrooms takes a fraction of the land and water that the same protein would take from any animal source.
Shortening the chain matters too. When stock moves from a Negombo shed to a Colombo kitchen in six hours instead of three days, far less of it ends up in a bin.
